3 WAYS TO INFUSE MORE NATURAL LIGHT INTO YOUR HOME
May 16, 2024Natural light is essential to our wellbeing. If we don’t get enough natural light, we can develop Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). There are many ways to ensure we’re maximising the amount of natural light our home (or workplace) can receive.
Natural light causes or bodies to release serotonin, which regulates our mood, helps our quality of sleep + maintains a healthy appetite. It helps reduce stress which leaves us with healthier immune systems. Often it increases our productivity + overall happiness by affecting or energy levels, so we definitely want to soak it in wherever + however we can.
-
Move furniture away from windows + clean windows regularly
-
Swap out heavy drapes for sheer curtains
-
Paint your walls a light colour to bounce the light around the room
These 3 simple tasks will make an enormous difference to how the space feels + more importantly how you feel in the space. Natural light + the lack of it, can impact our mental health greatly, so it’s imperative we become aware of getting sufficient Vitamin D each + every day. For many who work indoors long hours, it’s crucial to bring the light inside by making simple tweaks to our workplace to ensure we welcome as much as is possible.
Until next time…
